Splash, Wave eeeerrr FLOOD!

I went home with Uncle Don today and when we got to the taxi queue we lost patience thus decided to hire a bigger van at a higher price of course, almost 4x the regular cab fare. But we deem it necessary to just make a decision and go home all at once. We were near the World Trade Center when the driver saw the heavy and seemingly not moving traffic. The driver decided to take the road less travelled, to our dismay. It was all flooded and traffic was unbearably heavy as well.

After about two hours in heavy traffic (I normally only need 15 minutes to get home), we reached our street. The street was flooded. You see people wading in floodwater. I was silently praying that my place is not in deep dark murky floodwater. It was such a sight...a disappointing sight. This is my first experience with real floodwater. I was at work when it happened last year (lucky me). I guess the lucky streak has already waned.

And look at this picture... According to the bystanders, the water has pretty much subsided already.

When we got near my apartment, I was able to get a shot of this floodwater wave...

And a few steps away from home, I was greeted by the dark dirty floodwater in our gate. Bad news: The living room was flooded! (insert sad and shocked face here)
