MTV Blog Squad

I received an email from Nuffnang on the 18th inviting me to submit an entry and see if I qualify for the MTV blogger gig. I asked Mr. Flowers and he said I should go ahead and try. As you very well know, that's one push I so needed. So, let me share to you my response to: If you had the privilege to follow a VJ around for a day, who would you choose and why?

Chasing Denise

I so aptly titled this entry "Chasing Denise" as she is the one I want to follow around for a day among the current VJs if I had the privilege to. I chose to follow her because I wanted to know exactly how a model and a TV personality live her everyday life. Does she ever get up looking as beautiful and radiant as she is? What is the first thing that she does in the morning? Does she follow a strict diet regimen? Does she still have time to go to the gym? Does she still have time to catch up with her girl friends or her family or her boyfriend? All these and more I wanted to know and experience with her. Of course, as I would be tagging around with her all day, I would get to know how requests are chosen to be featured on air and how she prepares for a green screen recording. Denise is an epitome of one considered to be part of the MTV generation, a lady full of sensible things to say, one with a benevolent heart ready to reach out to people in need and defined by her deep appreciation for the fine arts, with compelling perspective and an attitude of a role model to the rest of the MTV generation and her growing fan base alike.

Following her around would be loads of fun, which I am sure of as it is very evident upon show broadcast. I want to know what makes her laugh and cry and what pisses her off when the camera is not rolling. It is apparent as well that everyone who works in her field puts in a lot of time for work and I want to experience that for myself. Will I ever survive a day like hers? Following her around would put me to the test. Her confidence is oozing and that I want so much to emulate. Of course since she gets to rub elbows with some other musicians and celebrities alike then I would be an inch closer to meeting them too. I would be stoked to bits. With that in my mind, I always wonder if she ever get star struck still after all the years of being exposed to the blitz of the music industry.

All that being said, I want to know her as a person and not just a celebrity who has to keep a happy presence all the time in her shows. All what I wanted to do while tagging around with her would be to learn how Denise gets her twenty-four hours to good use. As her favorite quote goes: “"Cherish your vision; cherish your ideals, cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind, the loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts. If you remain true to them, your world will be built at last." and so would I be when I get that much coveted day with her.

Denise Keller is much more than just an MTV Asia VJ – she is a famous model, an eye candy, a brand endorser, a hit magazine cover, a TV presenter, a youth ambassador, an entertainer, a chic fashionista, a person who has inspired not only me to continuously move forward to attain goals but other youths as well.
