MS KRYSTAL has an ongoing contest in her beauty blog, dedicated to all things that make a woman more beautiful. I thought it would be pretty fun to join and see what I could do with the colors that I have and the tips and tricks that I have learned blog hopping the past couple of days. I am no pro in putting on make up. I am a simple concealer, powder, a little color here and there kinda girl and you rarely see me putting on bright colors. You would often see me with earth tones, mainly brown. If I need to have my face done, I enlist a friend to do my make-up. Here's one look done by a friend:

Anyway, on to the contest, I decided to try the pink clad girl (MAC Barbie):

I have to warn you though that I am not a pro and I am just happy making do of what I have. I had fun trying to recreate this look. Well, maybe I could have given the look more justice if I had a better camera, better picture editing skills and better lighting, but well, I think I can only wish odds were for me.

I like pink but surprisingly, I don't have any pink colored make-up, be it eyeshadow or blush. I don't think it looks good on me considering that I have a brown skintone. I used MAC Eye Shadow in Clarity (Bright Aqua) on my lower lid and I had to improvise on the pink part. I used Avon Color Rich Lipstick in Wild Strawberry. Yes, I used lipstick. Hehe! I then lined my eyebrow with Maybelline Expert Eyes Dark Brown (as you can see I have quite an untouched brow). I also used IN2IT Liquid Kohl Eyeliner. Since I ran out of glue, I wasn't able to put on some falsies thus I tried to darken the lashes by using two coats of Estee Lauder Magnascopic Maximum Volume Mascara in Black and then two coats of IN2IT Kohl Mascara. I then tied my hair with a pinkish curling ribbon and throw on some black pearl beads on my neck to complete the look.

For the cheeks, I used Ever Bilena Tan Blush-on (it's a local brand that's sold pretty cheap).
Before putting on all the make-up, I used The Face Shop Phytogenic Foundation in Oak Beige (B31) and Maybelline Clear Smooth Minerals Healthy Natural Powder Foundation. I used Mary Kay Signature Lip Gloss in Watermelon as I do not have a pink lipstick in my beauty stash. Here's a picture of me looking straight:
Here's another look at my made up face courtesy of my novice hands and hopeful thoughts that someday somehow I would be able to learn and enhance my facial features.
Now, if y'all think you have the power to turn a drab face into a glimmering face full of life and color, join the fun and visit Ms. Krystal's blog. Check out her blog by clicking this link to know the rules.

Thank you girl...I'm still learning and plus I don't have too many make-ups in my kit. Any tips you can share will be appreciated.
