Windows Live Writer

I am now blogging using Microsoft Windows Live Writer while taking a break from doing my laundry and as I sip on a venti coffe jelly light blended no whipped cream drink from Starbucks. I have yet to discover the other benefits this software will bring to me. This is a test post and I hope this will come out good enough. I was convinced to try this because I can now work offline.

Without even reading in-depth about the benefits, I can see that I can:

  • Post a picture and immediately format it and resize it as well. And what do you know you can watermark your photos too.
  • Post an entire photo album. Amazing feature!
  • Add a table immediately to the blog post as well as a map, tag and video.

Have you tried this software? Any feedback or tips for a newbie user like me?

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday…I am off to check  my laundry.

Save The Date! 07022010 = F21

The air is thick with the aroma of excitement as fashion forward femmes in the metro are already rendered sleepless with excitement for the opening of Forever 21. Yes, finally the real Forever 21. What excites everyone more is the super affordable price point. Basic tees are priced from Php185.00 (about $4.00) and dresses start from Php585.00 (about $13.00) and oh dear nothing is more than Php2000.00 (about 44.00). Still a little higher than prices posted in the website but then again you get to save a great deal of shipping fees so not so bad. The prices I got from Forever 21 Twitter account.

As I was browsing the blogosphere about this much talked about store opening, I chanced upon what Chuvaness has written. Go check her blog for more pictures and updates.

Here are the store stats:
34 fitting rooms
60 sales assistants
17 cashiers
91 total staff, including management

This is one big big store and it is in the second floor of SM Megamall A (Cinderella spot before) just above the Levis store which is currently being constructed/renovated. If you want a complimentary shopping coupon worth Php200.00 on July 2nd, be among the first 250 customers to line up at the entrance. The main entrance is right next to Watsons.

Instead of shopping today and tomorrow, I will purposely hold my horse and wait for July 2. I have already asked Jonah to accompany me. For more insider info, like Forever 21 in Facebook. My new boss pointed out why I am always wearing dresses at work and I think she's in for more chances of seeing me in more dresses after this shopping trip. Haha!

I am crossing my fingers that these dresses will be on the racks...

Natalia Vodianova for Bugaboo (Red)

Source: Huffington Post

Model Natalia Vodianova recently struck a pose–while surrounded by babies–as the face of Bugaboo’s partnership with (RED), the initiative to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. Bugaboo has agreed to contribute 1% of all its revenue to the Global Fund.

And Vodianova couldn’t be happier to participate, joking with Oliver Bennett in an interview, “I’m always broody around children. They’re so cute and adorable.” She continued, “If I can support children worldwide, of course I want to help….HIV/AIDS is a very smart enemy of the human race and the fact that children are born carrying this enemy makes me sad.”

Vodianova also shared some stories from her childhood–she grew up in Nizhni Novgorod, Russia and started working in a market at age 11: “I come from a very poor background, brought up by a single mum, with a little sister who is mentally disabled.”

She became a model at age 17, and eleven years later, has three children of her own. “My oldest son is very sensitive, while my youngest son is the cheeky one. My daughter is a princess who gets away with everything,” she said.

Thank You, Sunsilk!

Last May 26, I attended the Sunsilk Fashion Event at the Mall of Asia in line with the Philippine Fashion Week extravaganza. I almost did not attend because I had to wake up too early in order to get prime seats plus I still need to claim my ticket and event pass. It is not a secret that I work nights so sleep is a luxury but then that day I decided to cheat on sleep and troop to the event venue. It was fun taking pictures of the models as they sashayed down the runway with dresses created by fresh talents in the fashion design world.

SM Mall of Asia Atrium - Event Venue

Sarah Meyer hosted the Sunsilk Co-Creations Fashion Week Show

After the event, bloggers were invited to attend an after-party for the announcement of the expert-touched style blog contest. I immediately blogged the mechanics at the venue using the Lenovo Ideapad S10-2 netbooks provided by Villman Computers. It was pretty quick because I only copied the details from the Hair Experts Facebook Page. After feasting on the food and ice cream and meeting some other bloggers, I went straight to work because my office is just near. I took home with me the press kit and 4 bottles (different variants) of Sunsilk Co-Creations Shampoo. This is one thing I love about blogger events - freebies!

I was at a loss for a concept or idea on what to write and thinking that the deadline was fast approaching (we were only given about five days), I started to tell the story about how me and my hair are often more enemies than bestfriends. I posted the entry a little after 330AM and then edited pictures the next day. Seeing that my entry was still half-baked I decided to add an encouragement to my readers as well as tweak the lyrics of a popular song by Alicia Keys. I had officemates read it and I was surprised that they liked even just the first sentence. It gave me confidence to finally submit my entry and then ask for friends to increase the popularity of the blog post. I emailed friends and asked them to like the entry and if they feel like commenting then they can do so. I am so elated and overwhelmed with the support given to me.

When the finalists were announced, I was so ecstatic to see my name included. I expected to win the iPod Nano because the other finalists had amazing entries and support from their respective friends too. I told myself that winning the iPod will be a nice prize already. I really did not expect that I will be adjudged as the Best-Ever blogger. I was literally shaking when I was handed the prize and one of the finalists felt it. Now, I am a proud owner of a Lenovo Ideapad S10-3t netbook and tablet PC in one.

Thank you so much Sunsilk for noticing my entry. You have an amazing product and I am now pledging my loyalty to you. Looking forward to more events in the future.

Zoya Polish Lovin'

I've just started collecting Zoya Nail Polishes and just last night I added 4 to the bunch. I initially bought only 3 bottles a couple of months back (from a Multiply seller) just to try and I was impressed. Very impressed indeed! Zoya nail polishes are worth every penny you spend.

Ibiza, Asia, Posh, Alegra

And sure I have developed this insatiable love affair for Zoya Nail Polishes.

Not only are they the longest wearing natural nail lacquers, but they come in in every color imaginable. From the light natural-looking ones to luscious, fashion forward colors. So expect this whole army of polishes to grow. Did I say I just ordered a few more?

Thank you to Organic Rituals for making Zoya more accessible to polish lovers in the Philippines. Add them up on Facebook or follow their Twitter account. If you want to try Zoya on your nails, visit their spacious and luxurious spa in Greenhills.
