This is my blog, my own little space in cyberworld. This is where you can read bits and pieces about me. This is where I take you to places I go, introduce you to people I've been with, inspire you with the things I've done and will be doing. Welcome to my electronic diary...
"It's hard to stay mad when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once and it's too much. My heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst. And then I remember to relax, to stop trying to hold on to it. Then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life. You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. But don't worry, you will someday." - Lester Burnham

Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez are in the house! The pop diva and rocker officially join Randy Jackson at the American Idol judges' table for season 10 of Fox's hit reality series. Their hires, rumored for weeks, were announced today on a stage full of rock-concert-appropriate smoke and lasers at the Forum in Los Angeles. (Welcome, new musical overlords!)
Now, were you just born a couple of minutes ago? Do you need the scoop on the new judges? Here it is:
Steven Tyler is the lead singer of the rock band Aerosmith, but he may be better known to the younger folk as father to Liv Tyler, aka cute elf Arwen from the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Jennifer Lopez, aka Jenny from the Block, aka J.Lo, is the consummate multihyphenate of our time. She sings, she acts, she dances, she does reality TV! Now married to Marc Anthony and the mom of twins, her own musical career has been slowing down of late (she recently parted ways with record company Sony Music Group). This new gig allows her to stay in the spotlight and earn beaucoup bucks without having to leave her 2-year-olds, Max and Emme, to tour or shoot on location. Deadline.com reports she'll earn $12 million for just one year with A.I.; she also got a first-look movie deal with Fox for her production company.
Two seats were open at the judges table this year. Original judges Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell left after seasons eight and nine, respectively; new judge Kara DioGuardi was released from service earlier this month after appearing on the last two seasons; and new judge Ellen DeGeneres resigned this summer after just one season.
Original judge Randy Jackson, who was best known as a bassist and A&R man before joining the ratings-ruling reality series, is returning for his 10th season with the show.
Will J.Lo will be the new "mean" judge, replacing Cowell? Could Tyler be replacing as Paula Abdul as the "loopily creative" judge? Only time will tell...
American Idol season 10 is set to premiere in January 2011.
Do you approve of these new hires? Do you think they'll bring new life to American Idol, or are they harbingers of shark-jumping?
The Amazing Race Asia promises lots of unexpected surprises every season, and it does not disappoint in the latest season –the 4th edition since the Asian adaptation started in 2006. The last season was billed as the “Toughest Race Ever”, and the contestants were certainly tested physically and mentally to their limits; this season promises lots of laughter and wacky moments that will have viewers in stitches, as motormouths and madcap personalities dominate the Race this time.
For the first time ever, The Amazing Race Asia will premiere online first, one whole week before its on-air broadcast. Viewers logged on to www.axn-asia.com/tara last September 16 and were the first to catch the first episode online, while those who prefer watching it the traditional way can tune in to the on-air premiere on AXN tonight at 9PM (September 23).
Humour is the name of the game as this season ups the comedy ante. Executive Producer, Michael McKay, ended up in tears for laughing too hard during the Race and even during the post-production of the series. “Manas and Sahil from India generate the laughs right from the start, Ethan and Khairie from Malaysia are just naturally funny guys; and the Richards from the Philippines have a very dry sense of humour, though Hilda might just steal the opening episode,” revealed McKay.
Indeed, drama and hilarity ensue this season – look out for chatterboxes who just cannot stop talking, wild party girls with outrageous behaviour, a team who brought along a foldable chair to rest as and when they get the chance to, and self-confessed cry babies who will cry about anything and everything… Love ‘em or hate ‘em, the teams are sure to entertain with their over-the-top antics. Of course, there are also the regular joes who will warm your hearts with their sincerity and determination.
Expect to see one of the hardest roadblocks ever, exotic and scenic locales, as well as some of the funniest moments in Race history being dished out this season. Prepare to join these 10 teams on an adventurous and humourous ride…only on AXN!
The Amazing Race Asia Season 4 is sponsored by Sony Electronics Asia Pacific, Caltex, Axiata Group, as well as Official Hotel Partner Hilton Hotels & Resorts.
TARA 4 Episode 1
On-air premiere on 23 Sep, Thursday at 9PM (SG, MY, PH, INDIA) /10PM (HK)/ 8PM (JKT)exclusively on AXN.
"You don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies."
Are you going to watch the story about the founders of the social-networking website, Facebook? Here's the trailer for all to see:
STORYLINE: On a fall night in 2003, Harvard undergrad and computer programming genius Mark Zuckerberg sits down at his computer and heatedly begins working on a new idea. In a fury of blogging and programming, what begins in his dorm room soon becomes a global social network and a revolution in communication. A mere six years and 500 million friends later, Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in history... but for this entrepreneur, success leads to both personal and legal complications. Written by Columbia Pictures
The film is written by Aaron Sorkin (A Few Good Men) based on the novel The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook — A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal by Ben Mezrich.
The trailer is enticing, exciting and intriguing. I think I will watch it on October 1.
I initially planned to just run for 2 miles but I ended up finishing 6K of interval workout and some rowing and ab exercises on the side. Guess you can tell I am really serious now. No more going to the gym for show or just because I am meeting a friend to chitchat with.
I am training again to avoid any untoward injuries and I might not last and finish the run if I slack off. I will try so hard not to miss any scheduled run and try to up the ante everyday and challenge myself and surprise every muscle I use when running. I am hell-bent on putting this motivation to good use.
Here's my current playlist:
1. Can't Fight It (Ne-yo) 3:36 - this should be good for some stretching and waking up my sleepy nerves (oh yes, I come from a graveyard shift and then head straight to the gym)
2. I Know You Want Me (Pitbull) 4:00 - this I listened to while alternating between brisk walking and running, 3 incline 5 speed for 2 minutes, 2 incline and 10 speed for 1 minute and 4 incline and 5 speed for another minute
3. Right Round (Flo Rida feat Keisha) 3:26 - this is a happy song. I loved it while running. 5 incline 5 speed for the entire duration of the song
4. Boom Boom Pow (Black Eyed Peas) 4:13 - some more interval madness. 3 incline 5 speed for 2 minutes, 2 incline and 10 speed for 1 minute and 4 incline and 5 speed until the song fades
5. I Gotta Feeling (Black Eyed Peas) 4:07 - by this time your endorphins don't want you to stop anymore and you feel so pumped up you just wanna go on and on. 3 incline 5 speed for 2 minutes, 2 incline and 10 speed for 1 minute and 4 incline and 5 speed until the song fades
6. Go Girl (Pitbull and Trina) 3:52 - easy brisk walking for the entire duration of the song
7. Bojangles Remix (Pitbull with Lil Jon) 4:35 - 3 incline 5 speed for 2 minutes, 2 incline and 10 speed for 1 minute and 4 incline and 5 speed until the song fades
8. Spotlight (Ne-yo) 4:05 - time to go easy and just brisk walk 5 incline 5 speed for the entire duration of the song
9. Whoop D Whoop (Pitbull) 2:32 - one last hurrah 2 incline 7 speed for the whole duration of the song
10. Stay With Me (Ne-yo) 3:53 - walk slow as you cool down and do some more stretching
I will update my playlist on week 2 of training. I will for sure increase the intensity and choose faster songs.
An interval workout, which alternates between moderate and fast speeds, not only blasts fat, it also keeps the burn going. You'll knock off 9 percent more calories for up to 14 hours after 30 minutes of high-intensity exercise (Florida State University study).
And I decided to put on make-up again after a very long time... I am laughing out loud now because of the ubercreative title I used for this post. Self-love! Hahaha! Just thought I'd post it here for posterity.
A couple of weeks ago, one of my nails broke because it got caught up in a zipper so I had to cut all my nails short. And you know for a fact that if my nails are short, I like painting them with matte nail polish. And so I did. Here are some pictures I took:
Again, as always I did not use any base coat or top coat. I just brushed on two coats of the polish. See how opaque it is! I just love Zoya and I am particularly inlove with Harlow. OPI La Pazitively Hot matte now has a rival.
Let's usher in designs of Louis Claparols as he partners with Ensembles. This will be the third installment for Ensembles Designer Collection. The first one was collaborated with James Reyes and followed by Debbie Co.
This September, Ensembles launched another amazing holiday collection: The Louis Claparols Holiday 2010 Collection consisting of art-deco dresses, tops, skirts, boleros and trench coats in vibrant and festive colors that screams fun and holiday.
GET TO KNOW LOUIS CLAPAROLS
Louis Claparols (pronounced as Louie) is one of the most celebrated fashion designers today. He’s the elected president of Young Designers Guild (YDG), he once co-owned a vintage store in Rockwell called Marni’s Room, and is now collaborating with Ensembles for a capsule Holiday collection.
He rose to fame with his collection of embellished jeans which further evolved to making sportswear-inspired clothing. But he always surprises everyone at every fashion show he’s part of and shows the audience something new.
“I grew up with a very chic mom. And I believe Fashion is in our blood”, Claparols recalled when asked how his interest in fashion design began. He has female cousins who were top models in the 80’s and a brother who’s a famous bag and accessory designer in New York.
Rich experience in retailing backed by strong fashion design skills and learning, has made Claparols a well-rounded designer. Another advantage that he has over other designers is being part of the Young Designers Guild (YDG). “Being part of YDG has opened a lot of doors for me. I wouldn’t be where I am now without being under the banner of the guild. And being the elected president of the guild, I guess, is my way of giving back to YDG.”
Visit Ensembles Stores to check out the designs. Here are some of the designs to excite you:
Behind every song there's always an emotion. We don't know why but maybe that's why we love music.
Eureka! I have a new discovery and I think it is awesome and so I wanted to share this with you all. I have often been asked what is my favorite music and I would always say it depends on my mood. It is true that my choice of music is greatly influenced by my mood. Sometimes, new non-mainstream music appeals to me than the ones that have been played time and again over the radio or my iTunes. If I am happy of course I don't wanna listen to sad songs and when I am in-love the last song I want to listen to would be breaking up songs and vice versa.
How about you? What influence your choice of music? Does your mood come into play too? Let STEREOMOOD play music that corresponds to your mood. But don't get back at me if this website gets you addicted to it. Because I am...
As I am writing this, I am listening to music from the SEXY tag. ;-) Well, I just got back from the gym and I still have the hormones surging so that explains it...
