NOTD: OPI Jade Is The New Black

6:44 AM

Almost a year ago from when the OPI Hongkong Collection was launched, I decided to paint my nails with one of the pretty colors in the collection. You've probably seen it everywhere already except on my nails. You know me, I almost always resort to any shades of red. Just to make sure I am using up all my nail colors before they dry up on me, here's a pretty green one.

OPI Jade Is The New Black looks more like a faded green than a fresh one so it's easy on the eyes and it's quite soothing so to speak. I think it's my favorite among all the colors in this collection. It's a subdued green and kinda looks dusty at first glance (until the creaminess swallows you).

A darker shade of green than Chanel Jade, this creamy green is a must try. I applied it on  my toes too...

I only had to apply two coats because the consistency was very thick and as usual the bottle comes with the much raved about OPI brush. Two coats and you get an opaque finish. This time however I did not use Seche Vite to top it off because my two bottles have gone sticky already. I need to get a few bottles more. Good thing this little green blob in a bottle dries fast. Perfect!

It looks pretty with the flash on. This looks more like how it looks for real.
Have you tried this color on your nails? Other colors in the collection are:

Bling Dynasty - A char-”ming” gold that shimmers and glimmers
Red My Fortune Cookie - This will be next!
Hot & Spicy- A sizzling coral that’s a kung pao wow!
Chop-sticking to My Story - I mean it – “pick up” this warm caramel shade
Pearl of Wisdom - Smart girls choose this lustrous pearl shade
Panda-monium Pink - Lend a panda a hand-a in this uproarious light pink
Dim Sum Plum - A berry delectable delicacy
Jade is the New Black - The vibrant green is the new fashion vibe
Suzi Says Feng Shui - A serene cobalt blue to balance your yin yang
Meet Me on the Star Ferry - A Kowloon-lit, moonlit violet
Lucky Lucky Lavender - Be pretty and prosperous in this luscious light purple
A Good Man-darin is Hard to Find - But you’ve found it- in this zesty red-orange!

If these are still available in stores where you are, go grab some and paint your nails in time for the Chinese New Year...
