Oscars 2011 Red Carpet Fashion

Here's a few more display of fashion of some of the Hollywood notarities:

Zachary Levi / Justin Timberlake / Jesse Eisenberg / Andrew Garfield
Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman / Sharon Stone / Reese Witherspoon / Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers

Natalie Portman / Anne Hathaway / Scarlett Johansson / Jennifer Hudson

Gwyneth Paltrow / Amy Adams / Hilary Swank / Busy Phillips

Cate Blanchett / Sandra Bullock / Halle Berry / Nicole Kidman

Who's gown would you wear? I'd pick Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman (Elie Saab and Rodarte) who both coincidentally starred in the darkest movie I've seen so far this year, Black Swan. I got pretty disturbed and shaken after watching the movie. If you haven't watched it yet, go ahead (Natalie's performance is worth-watching). Let's give the Best Actress some credit although her pirouettes and arabesques may not be  perfect but her acting was flawless.

Spring Cleaning

My mom, dad and sister will be coming to visit me next week and I am so excited to see them again after almost five months. I am excited too for our North Luzon trip. Can't wait to see a real giraffe and ostrich at Baluarte. Oh yeah, I haven't seen the real animals yet (maybe I'd touch if I am brave enough.) Just as I am excited for the vacation, I am also excited to do some spring cleaning and sort out my closet (read: organize).

See, I am a quintessential pack rat but truth be told not any way near someone with disposophobia (compulsive hoarder). I just loving keeping stuff for when I reminisce in the future. My mom is my exact opposite as she throws anything that she thinks is not needed or something that is of no value anymore. I plan to sell all the clothes that don't fit me anymore in a garage sale. I may also throw in some shoes and magazines among others. If you live near my house, please drop by if in case I push through with the sale. If you don't live anywhere near me, then you might want to shop online for some spring clearance sale and for recent additions at EdenFantasys check out these treasure troves of goodies.

I hope to make room for some new shopping finds pretty soon. I haven't shopped for some time now and I bet with my sister's coaxing I am going to hoard some new dresses and shoes and even lingeries in the whole week that they are here with me. Oh, maybe that MacBook Pro baby I have been saving for, with up to twice the processing speed, advanced graphics, and ultrafast Thunderbolt I/O, there’s plenty of fast to go around. Who knows? Let's see where the shopping feet will take us.

I have my list of favorites already, how about you? The best one for me so far is Mila Kunis. Check this out:

2014 Olympics Mascot

Finally, the official mascots for the 2014 Olympics is out, not without controversy. Yes, you read it right, there are three (3) mascots for the next Olympics in Russia. Mascots are generally used for marketing and the organizers are positive that these mascots would set the hype as they deemed.

The Polar Bear

The Snow Leopard

The Bunny

The 2014 Winter Olympics, officially known as the XXII Olympic Winter Games, will be the next Winter Olympics celebrated from February 7 to February 23, 2014 in Sochi, Krasnodar Krai, Russia. The city was elected on July 4, 2007, during the 119th International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session in Guatemala City, Guatemala. This will be the first time that the Russian Federation will host the Winter Olympics; the Soviet Union hosted the 1980 Summer Games in Moscow. - Wikipedia

You Got Me Wrapped Around Your Little Finger

I watched "An Education" on HBO just a while back and I think I have tapped the old soul in me. I can't stop listening to the soundtrack especially the song "You Got Me Wrapped Around Your Little Finger" by Beth Rowley. This song was played on the first date of David (Peter Sarsgaard) and Jenny (Carey Mulligan). I loved the courtship and the chase and the sweet little gestures they make to each other in several scenes and of course the flirting that was conspicuous enough. Ah! The bliss of young, blossoming love. That's exactly the kind that makes the butterflies in your stomach flutter.

THE PLOT: This movie is a coming-of-age story about a teenage girl in 1960s suburban London, and how her life changes with the arrival of a playboy nearly twice her age. In 1961 London, Jenny Mellor is a 16-year-old schoolgirl who is on track to enter Oxford University when she meets a charming older man, David Goldman, who pursues her romantically. He takes her to concerts, clubs, and fine restaurants, and easily charms Jenny's parents into approving of the relationship. When Jenny recognizes that David is a con man who makes money through a variety of shady practices, she is initially shocked but silences her misgivings in the face of David's persuasive charm.

When David proposes marriage, Jenny accepts and drops out of school just before taking her A-levels. She then discovers that David is already married. When she confronts him, he at first makes excuses and then vanishes. Jenny despairs, feeling she has thrown her life away, but with the help of her favourite teacher, resumes her studies and is accepted at Oxford the following year. - Wikipedia

I liked the movie. Wait, I loved it! It'll be included in the lists of my favorite movies. You should go ahead and watch it to understand where I'm coming from.

As usual, the movie brought me back to my goal/dream/plan of going to Paris...Who doesn't want to go there? I don't think one would and could resist the allure of the romantic and carefree atmosphere. Oh, I forgot to mention that the song I posted in this post has passed to be a contender for the music for my wedding dance. Slow dance, Parisian feel, such love...

Think romance, pinks, laces, macaroons, ribbons, tulles, satin and chiffon, very chic French...

This cake can have the grooms and brides pictures taken a la Parisian style...

Beautiful and impressive cake - via Cakegirls
Eiffel tower place card holders - a nice way to bring the theme into the little details
Striking table settings - black and white stripe linens, white dinnerware, light pink napkins and pink floral centerpieces
Eiffel tower invitation from Lovely use of silhouettes (which I adore)
Eiffel tower favor bag kits - fill with bon bons or any favorite treat
Framed signature board on an easel - have everyone write a message for the guest of honor

Very unique place card holder (can double as souvenirs too).

Macaroons!!! This will surely be a hit to the young and old alike...

Gifts for the entourage...
You can probably mail the save the date cards in this vintage looking postcards...

If this is love, it's everything I hope it would be...

Mon Jasmin Noir

Things are coming up roses, make that jasmine, for Kirsten Dunst, who just inked a deal with Bulgari to represent its latest fragrance, Mon Jasmin Noir.

The new scent will launch worldwide in April, and the Italian luxury brand plans to fete Dunst with a glamorous Mediterranean Eden-themed party during Milan Fashion Week at the end of this month.

We hear the bash will take place at the Bulgari hotel on Feb 25, where the brand's Fall-Winter 2011-2012 accessories and jewelry collection will also preview.

Now that sounds like our kind of fabulosity.

Details on the new fragrance are hush-hush for now, but industry chatter is that jasmine will take center stage in an exotic and sensual fashion similar to that of Bulgari's existing Jasmin Noir scent.

And while Dunst's career has been quiet in the past few years since playing Marie Antoinette in all her corseted and heaving-cleavage glory, the Bulgari partnership signals what looks to be the beginning of an A-list year for the 28-year-old actress.

Tres Jolie Film

The francophile in me just loves this ultra stylish short film set in Paris... This is a mini french film for EF Language Schools. Are classes at the Alliance Francaise de Manille taught like this?

Founded in 1965, EF is now the world's largest private educational company, with a group of 15 subsidiaries and non-profit organizations centered around language learning, educational travel, cultural exchange, and academic programs. Whether you’re looking for romantic cities, picturesque vineyards, sun-drenched beaches or snowy mountain ranges, France is an idyllic destination.

Ernest Hemingway wrote, “If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you.” - I want to experience Paris at some point in my life. Take me there, my dreams!!! If anyone is kind enough to sponsor my trip, bring it on. I would forever be indebted to you.

Stylish eh? And educational too...Did you learn a word or two?

Filipino Talents Making Waves in the US

This is a super late post. I just saw this video on YouTube yesterday. It's another Filipino pride making waves in the US.

Luigi Seno is a 20-year old US immigrant who wowed the audience and judges of America’s Got Talent with his audition piece “Sunday Morning” by Maroon 5 on July 1, 2010. He then qualified to be one of the Top 48 contestants.

Sharon Osbourne said, “You have a really cool, relaxed style. Fantastic!”

Howie Mandel said, “You are truly a great entertainer. If you have an album out now, I’ll be listening to you in my car.”

Piers Morgan said, “You got the charm about you which is gonna go a long way.”

According to his website, music runs in his blood. Luigi’s mother is a music director and pianist at their church. She influenced him to pursue a career in music that’s why he is now enrolled at San Bernardino Valley College where he is taking up a music major.

Luigi is originally from Cebu, Philippines but his family migrated to Southern California in 2001 in search of their “American Dream”. His only wish right now is to be able to visit his relatives in the Philippines whom he has not seen for almost 9 years.

And here's a video of one of the youngest American Idol 2011 hopefuls and yeah she got in to the quarterfinals for America's Got Talent last year. Thia Megia, unlike Luigi, is born in the US. I hope she makes it to the Top 24.

I love the quality of her voice. So endearing...

Waiting On The Sideline

I can't keep waiting, waiting
I can't keep waiting, waiting

Show me a sign
Give me a reason to believe in your smile
Cause I'm not seeing anything on your face
It's like our love was erased
From your eyes

Throw me a rope
Don't leave me drowning in an ocean so cold
I really need you to help me understand
Why you don't reach for my hand
When you know I'm hurting

I've been on the sideline waiting baby
Feeling like I'm here alone
I don't wanna be your last resort
Sitting on the bench waiting for your call
I thought that we were closer

I try and I try and you're never around
I say I won't cry, but the tears they come
Pouring and the truth is I
Don't wanna leave but I'm losing my mind
Waiting on the sideline

This is your chance
Our song is playing
And you should want us to dance
You used to laugh when I would step on your feet
Is that just a memory?

Remember when we danced til the sun came up
I'm not a game
You can't replace me if I happen to break
So don't make promises and not follow through
Cause I don't do that to you
Baby can you feel me, yeah?

I've been on the sideline waiting for you
Feeling like I'm here alone
I don't wanna be your last resort
Sitting on the bench waiting for your call
Oh, I thought that we were closer

I try and I try and your never around
I say I won't cry by the tears they come
Pouring and the truth is I
Don't wanna leave but I'm losing my mind
Waiting on the sideline

Some things gotta change
Cause I've been losing faith
I love you but I can't wait here forever
How did you get so far
So far away from my heart?
Don't you realize I'm here too?

I can't keep waiting, waiting
I can't keep waiting, waiting

Cause it don't seem like you do
(I can't keep waiting, waiting)
Cause I am hurt
(I can't keep waiting, waiting)
I don't need hurt from you

You got me waiting on the sideline
I've been on the sideline waiting for you
Feeling like I'm here alone
I don't wanna be your last resort
Sitting on the bench waiting for your call
Oh, I thought that we were closer

I try and I try and you're never around
I say I won't cry, but the tears they keep
Pouring down more and the truth is I
Don't wanna leave but I'm losing my mind
Waiting on the sideline

"I'll turn my back and walk away, away from the pain. Scream it loud, drown it out by the sound of the rain. Listen up, I've had enough all this waiting. I need you more right now than I ever did!" - Hawthorne Heights "Somewhere In Between"

Yet Another Filipino Pride: Maria Aragon

Guess Who's Back?

Guess who's back bitches? It's your girl Britney!!!

For my sister who loves Britney so much and for an old friend Tony M. who was so crazy about Gimme Gimme More and for Jelle who loves Circus, here's Hold It Against Me.

It was released as the first single from her upcoming seventh studio album, Femme Fatale. "Hold It Against Me" was written by Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Bonnie McKee and Billboard, while being produced by Luke, Martin and Billboard. Musically, "Hold It Against Me" features industrial beats, a dubstep-influenced breakdown and a final chorus with elements of rave. The lyrics portray the singer seducing someone on the dancefloor, while the chorus revolves around pick-up lines. - Wikipedia

53rd Grammy Awards

I wasn't able to watch the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards (2011) Red Carpet Arrival yesterday because I had to stay in front of my computer as soon as I got home and so I watched the rerun today. I was a little disappointed with the dresses but I managed to pick out a few I like. The 53rd Grammy Awards was held on February 13, 2011, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Brit designer Julien Macdonald designed Heidi Klum's gown and it looked good on her.

Jennifer Lopez is stunning in this dress. It is appropriate for her music and she just looked like a million bucks. She wore a sparkling Pucci minidress with Louboutin heels.

Julianne Hough wore a Catherine Malandrino maxi dress and it looked good on her.

I like this on Lea Michele. This dress is a Pucci gown.

Miranda Lambert wowed every one in a Georges Chakra one-shouldered dress. So elegant!

Nicole Kidman wore a very romantic Jean Paul Gaultier strapless mermaid gown. This is the best dress she has worn in years. I totally loved this gown on her.

So, you've seen the dresses. Did you like anything?

Who Is The Black Mamba?

I am not big on basketball but I would just like to share this to everyone especially to everyone who loves Kobe Bryant a lot. But should I fear the Black Mamba? I certainly won't. If I see the Black Mamba I will run to him and have my picture taken with him. Seriously, Kobe is one of the basketball players who's easy on the eyes so I don't fear him at all.

The movie poster. Kobe showing off his biceps. Hehe!

The Black Mamba, staring Kobe Bryant, Kanye West, Bruce Willis, Danny Trejo, is a Nike Basketball production, directed by Robert Rodriguez. The film brings Kobe’s alter ego, the Black Mamba to life in a way that’s never been seen before.

Watch the trailers to get a feel of what it is to expect:

As the trailers show, The Black Mamba highlights Kobe’s everyday determination and “fight to the finish” spirit. The film also showcases Kobe as one of the best basketball players in the world, featuring him as a “protector” of basketball as he fights off those wishing to destroy and attack the game.

The film will be launched to consumers on Saturday, February 19, 2011, 6:00 p.m. at the Ronac ART Center, Ortigas Avenue, Greenhills, San Juan. Gates open at 4:00 p.m.

With the launch of the film is the unveiling of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI. The Nike Zoom Kobe VI is a performance basketball shoe inspired by the black mamba. The design draws cues from this fearsome snake and incorporates key performance elements in a low-profile shoe that weighs just 10.6 ounces in a men’s US size 9.

Are you going to watch this movie?

Hearts All A-Flutter!

I read from Ruffa's tweet (@iloveruffag) about the sweet surprise that Divine Lee made for her boyfriend Victor Basa.

And I must say, it is indeed sweet...

See for yourself:

I've done a few surprises before and I still have a few up my sleeves. I just need to remember to document them all next time. Maybe like this video. Awwww!

Happy hearts day everyone! Thank you for dropping by my blog.

And of course happy hearts day to my one and only who's out there where it's cold now. "If I could have just one wish, I'd wish to wake up every day to the sound of your breath on my neck, feeling your heart beating with mine ... knowing I could never find that feeling with anyone other than you." I am excited for our Skype-date later...
